About

Dr. Vasilis Pallikaras, Ph.D., C.Psych.
Clinical, Health, and Rehabilitation Psychologist.
Dr. Vasilis is a licensed psychologist registered in Ontario. He earned his Bachelors (B.A. Hons.) and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Concordia University. His approach to assessment and treatment integrates biological, social, and psychological factors that impact both mental and physical well-being. He draws from evidence-based modalities (CBT, ACT, DBT, CFT, EFT) and process-oriented approaches to provide person-centered and strength-based services.
Dr. Vasilis has rigorous experience helping people with mental and physical health difficulties. He is a psychologist at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, where he serves patients, supervises trainees, and engages in clinical research. Previously, he worked at the Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders Program of the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. He completed his pre-doctoral residency at The Ottawa Hospital in inpatient rehabilitation, the Eating Disorders Program, and the Psychological Consultation Service for Inpatients. His doctoral clinical training spanned the Psychosocial Oncology Program of the McGill University Health Centre, the ALS Society of Quebec, Concordia's community clinic, and private settings. Dr. Vasilis has taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and has delivered presentations to hospitals, conferences, and community organizations.
As a scientist-practitioner, Dr. Vasilis has published peer-reviewed research in depression, motivation, the dopamine system, psychopharmacology, acquired brain injury rehabilitation, movement disorders, substance use disorders, and chronic pain.
